On the very central Piazza S. Oronzo, since 100 years, there is one of the oldest and most famous, or better the most beloved coffee shop in Lecce, “il Caffe’ Alvino”. The founder Don Pippi Alvino since the beginning of the 1900, used to bake pastry by a secret recepy, spreading in the air the most delicious aroma of sweets and coffee. A heady smell so strong and placent to make stop and turn even the most distract passer by and make him follow the smell and enter the shop to spend a few minutes within the delicious sweets of any kind. Even today Lecce’s people caffe’, makes this effect.
